After studying comparative tables from valueresearchonline.com and moneycontrol.com I have picked up a few mutual funds to rearrange my mutual fund portfolio.
First I had to pickup some mutual funds for mom and dad, as they have reluctantly agreed to venture in the equity. So I had one limitation , mutual funds are to be from State Bank of India (SBI) only, as they still do not trust any other private players. When, I checked all the equity diversified funds from all the companies, with pleasant surprise, SBI had at least two of their funds in top 10. From the five and three years trailing return SBI Magnum Global and SBI Mangum Contra were among top 3. In the Tax Planning category Magnum Taxgain was among top 3, so I was relieved to choose four funds from SBI.
**Trailing return as on 07-09-2007**
|Fund Scheme||1 year||2 year||3 year||5 year|
|SBI Magnum Contra (G)||38.28||42.02||61.11||61.82|
|SBI Magnum Global (G)||39.38||40.39||62.54||60.04|
|SBI Magnum Multiplier Plus (G)||44.64||45.78||60.54||55.01|
