Posted by JV on February 9, 2008

Album : Beyond Time (1987)
Track : Samne hai jo usey log bura kehte hain
Lyric : Sudarshan Faakir
Music/Artist : Jagjit Singh

****
Samne hai jo usey log bura kehte hain
jisko dekha hee nahi usko khuda kehte hain

zindagi ko bhee sila kehte hain kehne waale
jeene waale to gunaahoN kee saza kehte hain

faasile umR ke kuch aur badha deti hai
jaaney kyoon log use phir bhee dawa kehte hain

chand masoom se patton ka lahoo hai `Fakir’
jisko mehboob ke haathon ki hina kehte hain

***

**
Sila/सिला = Reward

Concept of god ,perhaps, has been born out of seeking a perfect human being. As we get near to a person we know his flaws and thus the farthest person appears more perfect and so people seek the farthest, which appears beyond reach.

Posted by JV on July 15, 2007

Album : In Search (1992)
Lyrics : Nida Fazali
Singer : Jagjit Singh
Music : Jagjit Singh

If feel complaining about something , someone, do it after 24 hours of introspection.
***
Jab kisi se koi gila rakhnaa
saamne apne aaiina rakhna

Yun ujaalon se waasta rakhnaa
shamma ke paas hi hawa rakhnaa

Ghar ki taameer chaahe jaisi ho
ismen rone ki jageh rakhnaa

Masjiden hain namaaziyon ke liye
apne ghar mein kahin khuda rakhnaa

Milna-julna jahan jaroori ho
milne-julne ki hauslaa rakhnaa
****

****
Gila=complaint, blame
Taameer=construction

Hi,

Posted by JV on May 2, 2007

I have been away from my blog for more then a month. After getting my new camera-phone I started shooting my surrounding and soon I found enough images to start my own photobllog. I started my photoblog at aminus3.com.

Aminus3.com has restricted posting of one image for each day. In the beginning I easily posted few images but soon I started running out of images and I had to force my creativity to get one photo each day, and that kept me occupied but I clicked many images which I never thought I would. I explored all corners and place of my surrounding to feed aminus3.

Moreover, I finished most of my work at my office in this month in hope that I may get holiday during May, but instead , the boss is leaving for entire month putting me in the charge of everything.

I have many things to catch up at WordPress and has to visit the blogger friends.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach

Posted by JV on February 3, 2007

I had received the book, Jonathan Living Seagull by Richard Bach, in gift a year back. Thereafter, I have read it quite some time. It is quite short and simple story. But every time I read it, I found new meaning , better understanding.

***
The story is about Jonathan Livingston Seagull , an ordinary seagull who is more interested to know about flying then just eating fish. Soon his parents grow worried that why he can’t be like other in the Flock, leaving low flying to albatross. Jonathan tries to be like other gulls but soon he is back experimenting different kinds of flying. But after many efforts he fails in flying efficiently and eventually decides to quit and join the Flock, that would make everyone happier , thinks Jonathan. While returning to the Flock, he discovers how to fly like falcon and is able to set the highest speed limit in the history of seagulls. He decides to share the discovery with the Flock, and they will be wild with joys, he thinks. Immediately, Jonathan is summoned by the Council and Jonathan declared outcast for irresponsible behaviour.

Jonathan lives alone beyond Far Cliff and learns more everyday. One day he is joined by two seagulls, bright and white as starlight, who have come to take him higher, to take him to home.

So this is heaven, thinks Jonathan , when he arrives with them and finds his feather glowed brightly and wings were smooth. He finds that there still many things to learn and he learns quickly with the help of Chiang, the Elder seagull. In time he starts teaching new seagulls coming in, but he gives thought about his Flock on the earth where some gulls who would also be able to learn and decides to return to the Flock.

When he returns he finds young Fletcher Lynd Seagull, an outcast for he too wants to learn fly higher. Jonathan gathers more student one by one who were ready to face the fury of the Flock but eager to learn fly higher. Soon the Flcok calls Jonathan as the Son of the Great Gull for his unbelievable abilities to fly. Then Jonathan tells Fletcher that he is now leaving as there may be other flocks and other Fletchers waiting for instructions and lastly Jonathan asks Fletcher, that no rumors about him is spread or make him a god.

****

Once you start reading you understand that the story can be , or is, related to human beings. We mostly live for the sake of living and do not seek the purpose of life and do not travels beyond ordinary and remains ordinary.

I am sure many of you have read this but please read if you haven’t, and re-read if you have already. You can download or read the full story in text mode here .

There are many memorable quotes in the book , I have quoted them in separate post.

Tere baare mein jab socha nahin thaa by Jagjit Singh

Posted by JV on November 23, 2006

Track : Tere baare mein jab socha nahin thaa
Album : Saher
Lyrics : Meraz
Music : Jagjit Singh
Singer : Jagjit Singh

I am not worried about anything. I am not worried about anyone. I am not responsible for anything. I am not responsible to anyone. I am concerned with myself. I am free to choose my destiny. I am free to use my discretion. I am not doig anything against my will. I am careful about myself. I am caring myself. I am alone. I was alone. I will be alone. Nothing , no one comes together goes together . I am free spirit. IT’S MY LIFE.

***

Tere baare mein jab socha nahin thaa,
main tanha thaa magar itna nahin thaa

Teri tasveer se karta thaa baatein,
mere kamre mein aayina nahin thaa.

Samandar ne mujhe pyaasa hi rakha,
main jab sahera mein thaa pyaasa nahin thaa.

Manaane ruthne ke khel mein hum,
bichhad jaayenge ye socha nahin thaa.

Suna hai band kar li aankhein usne,
kai raaton se wo soya nahin thaa.
***

Zindgi Pyar Ka Geet Hai by Lata Mangeshkar

Posted by JV on July 16, 2006

Track : Zindgi Pyar Ka Geet Hai
Movie : Soutan
Singer : Lata Mangeshkar

This is one of my favorite ghazals. It soothes me when I am desperate about life, frustrated from life.

***
zindgi gham saagar bhi hai, haske us paar jana padega.

Jis ka ho jitna aanchal yahan par , usko saugat utni milegi,
phool jivan mein gar na khile to, kaanto so bhi nibhana padega.

Hai agar dur manzil to kya, rasta bhi hai mushkil to kya,
raat taaron bhari na mile to dil ka dipak jalana padega.

Zindgi ek paheli bhi hai, sukh dukh ki saheli bhi hai,
zindgi ek vachan bhi to hai jise sabko nibhana padega.
***

Must be one of my happiest day !! :)

Posted by JV on June 12, 2006

Time is just 9:45 in the morning and I am already feeling immensely happy by the morning activities.

I woke up at about 8:30 feeling completely relaxed and fully energised. Normally, I am too lazy to leave my bed, and that too I have to drag myself out of the bed.

I was wondering about my state of my mind. During sleep I had very strange and disturbing dreams. I recalled all the incidents of yesterday. Last night I went with a friend for outing and we enjoyed, and talked too much. After returning to home I watched "Danger Beneath The Sea". And went to sleep.

I realised or considered ,some of the things of yesterday's, as my mistake and regretted, and promised to not to commit the same again.

Then I reached to office, a bit earlier than routine. Met with the superior for todays business. After going through everything, I showed him the documents I had prepared last night for checking and I left for my chamber, and turned on othe internet.

Soon he followed me in my chamber, handing over the document, and told me 'there is slight changes required,(paused for a moment) now you can do as good as me'. I was in seventh clouds. I couldn't hold my smile.

Then I logged into wordpress for writing these things, and I checked stats page. There I found a link from http://jeffreyarcher.co.uk/code-v2/herrings-reviews.htm referring to my blog. I wondered because that appeared to be the official site of the author. So I checked the link, and I was pleasantly surprised. The editor of the site had chosen my post about the review on Twelve Red Herrings , a collection of the short stories of the author. Now, that was very encouraging for me.

I am enjoying my day. Now tell me what should I expect next? it is just 10:00.

Be here

Posted by JV on June 8, 2006

Today was a quite confusing day. I am known for expecting less from everyone. Still I exepcted something from someone. It happens rarely. In past it always hurted me when people did not react as per my expectations. But I learnt, bitter ways, that world , people do live upto your expectations. And now for  many years I have been expecting less, it surfaces sometime, but now I am aware about such expectations and clear my mind.

Now why expectaions hurts when they are not fulfilled? Expectaions is future action which we visualise and we become happy about the future event. And when we encounter the situations and it is not fulfilled as we had visualised, it hurts and leaves scars. Then we tie knots in our mind and becomes prejudiced to certain persons, things, situations.

Philosophers and thinkers emphasizes on no-mind or living in presence. It is difficult not to think about the past events and future events. It is not that we have to stop thinking and using mind at all. But we have to use mind as a tool where we can do process of thinking. Analysis of past and planning future are necessary things. But past events or future events should not effect your present action , which always happens.

If I have some bitter expereince of some person , I become angry in his presence, or by just seeing him, or merely his reference can make me loose my mind, then I have no control over me, my mind.

Brain memory can be divided in two parts physical memory and psychological/emotinal memory. In physical memory you remember the incident with that person and be careful during next encounter with him. While using emotinal memory you become angry everytime you see him. Now that is something one has to control his/her mind and should not allow prejudices to come between. Prejudices are the birth place of hatred and anguishment.

Same thing happens while generating expectations. If someone is good with me and I like his company, and devlope good feelings about him. Then next time I see him I 'expect' him to treat me same way he did to me at last occassions. Now, it is not always possible for every man to be in same state of mind every time, so the opposite person may be welcoming or avoiding me depending upon his own mood and state of mind, and I becomes angry for not being treated properly.

So when you have faced negative response from a person, dont be prejudiced, give him/her some benefit of doubts. He might not be in mood of meeting anyone, might have faced worse situatation then you are, having problems at job, home, with wife and there are thousands of problem people live with. So next time you visit him , visit with open mind and check the water, you may live up to see good relation. Same with expections, dont expect too much, he might need your support, cheer up, which he once gave to you.

I have written this as it came to my mind. Please particpate and share your views.
